Mananasi again

We had a fun and unforgettable experience with this special crop that has become an icon at Swell Roastery!

This crop comes from an altitude of up to 1900 meters above sea level, in a fertile ground ideal for growing coffee cherries in Uganda, in the province of Kinga Kianza in particular.

The story of Mananasi begins when the Great Lakes Coffee team has a unique social experience worth telling; the team decided to improve the quality of coffee to work from an area known for producing Arabica coffee of low quality and low price compared to similar regions in Uganda, so the team sought to develop a special program for training farmers, where the trained team develops a farmer with a leading role in society and provides intensive and in-depth training courses in agricultural engineering, processing and harvesting methods, and then appoints 35 members from Small farmers for each leading farmer, and these small groups are rewarded with a financial reward according to the unit, the higher the quality of coffee, the higher the wage of the working group, and the leading farmer receives an additional reward for the double training he provides to his colleagues as an incentive and guarantee for the knowledge that he transfers to them efficiently during training.

Red Cherry Program

It is the next stage of quality improvement progressively underway over recent years.

This program focuses mainly on quality first and foremost; by instructing farmers to pick only ripe cherries, then dry the coffee on raised beds, and after the coffee is completely dry, it is sent to the processing plant to remove all possible defects in the coffee to ensure a clean and clear cup of coffee.

Notes: Pineapple, dried fruits, chocolate
